Well we had a wonderful long holiday weekend. After a night out with friends Wednesday night, we went eat at my parents for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. We had a fairly traditional dinner but with chicken instead of turkey...I know, I know...but it was my father's idea. I made the rice dressing, stuffing, baked mac & cheese and cranberry sauce...everything else was up to my father. After having thanksgiving leftovers for supper, we went to BR to visit with Lindsey & Marcus and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate at Starbucks where I bought a fabulous Christmas CD. I got to feel the baby...even though he was playing posum, I felt his little butt and his little elbow poking out. I must admit I felt a little fever...briefly...but it was fever none the less. One day...one day. Then Friday we were off to the woods, to grandmother's house we go. Ok so it was David's great grandmother's cabin. He laughs everytime I call it "the cabin", but that is what it is, an old cabin on achers of woodlands with a nice pond within walking distance down the trails. We got roast marshmellows, drink hot chocolate, David got to shoot his gun, we told stories and looked at old pictures. It was nice. Then, once back in civilization, we went to my brother's to pick up my new camera he had so graciously gotten for me when he discovered that this fabulous 6.1 mega pix/ 3X Zoom Kodak camera was on sale for half the price I was gonna pay for it. SWEET!
This year I made homemade cranberry sauce and the berries were so pretty & colorful in the pot that I had to take picture. And boy were they tasty! We ate a whole jar of it with our meal! I can see this is going to be a tradition that is expected for years to come.

Yep, I'm done! The 2005 craftshow season is over...well for me at least. I have sold a lot, worked a lot and lost a lot of sleep and now I can focus on the holidays & scrapbooking. Here are a few pics from the this weekend's show.

I've done Broadmoore for about six years and things have gotten a lot better with regards to random acts of insanity. Always prepare for rain and lots of it and don't bother complaining about it to anyone who runs the show because their standard answer is "We can't control the weather"...we heard that at least 72 times last year. And no they don't cancel and no they don't return money. Bring hay, bring tarps bring tents, bring extra shoes, bring battery powered lights so when your tent loses electricity the shoppers can still see. Yes, we have needed all of these things and no, we didn't have most of them when we needed them. Don't mark reduce your prices during the show, make darn sure you made everything you are selling and never leave your car parked in the unloading lot. It will rain, the lights will go out but the people will still be there and they will still be buying. It is the weirdest, most bizarre thing I have ever seen. I have seen people pushing baby strollers through ankle deep mud, people on crutches, in wheel chairs and even on oxygen...yes on oxygen...SHOPPING! It is exhausting, terrible and great all at the same time. Does that make any sense? All I can say is come prepared and well rested and be ready for a long, bumpy but profitable ride. At least you have Sunday to rest.

Yep, that is the Destrahan crowd...huddled under the the porch of the house when the rain came. Despite the rain, the Destrahan show was a success! It seems that this was the first "normal" thing these people have been a part of in a long time. It was almost like they were comfort buying. Whatever the reason, we saw a lot of happy faces and a lot of green! Woo Hoo! I was kind worried after slow sales on Saturday, but Sunday well made up for it...rain and all.
Yep, the invitations were right, we did indeed have rootin' tootin' good time and the grub was indeed hearty. This baby shower rocked! There was more BBQ than you can shake a stick at and all the trimming to go along with it. Not to mention the precious themed decor!
Lindsey was thrilled and very surprised that we were able to make it. She told me we shouldn't surprise a pregnant woman....then she told me she was contracting! Thankfully, the excitement wore off! And the baby book...well, lets just say it was a big hit. I think the word she used to describe it was exquisite. I'll take that. Exquisite is good!
And not to be left out, Marcus sported his very on receiving blanket! Now he too is totally prepared to be a first time father.

Well finally I have finished little James Neil Whitty's baby book. Lindsey will be so surprised when I show up to her shower tomorrow with the completed book for her. Oh I'm so in love with it! This is just the first page of the precious little book...Click on "My Layouts" under My Links to see the rest of my favorite pages. Ok, now I have to scoot on to bed...I've got a busy weekend ahead of me. Tomorrow we are going to Lindsey's baby shower then to an announcement party for a couple that is getting married in January. I guess my dashing husband & I have to make a appearance since he is the best man in the wedding. I still think they only asked him because he will look good in the wedding pics! *Wink, Wink* LOL! Then we have to go to Destrehan for my craftshow. Thank GOD for mom and dad...they will be holding it down at Destrehan Saturday so we can attend our other engagements! Well I'm going to bed to dream of a productive morning of beading tomorrow, our many social appearances and all that money I am hoping for from the show this weekend.

I got my car back but the ol' girl just aint what she used to be. Now the decision...should we keep it or trade it in before the wreck shows up on Carfax. AGGHHHH! I hate this! I love my car and we have paid on it for 3 years. If I trade it in now we have to start all over with a new car, not to mention I have to make another decision...what car do I want? SH#T BALLS!

Yep. Martha is the Devil. I made the fatal mistake of purchasing the new Martha Stewart Living Magazine...you know, the Thanksgiving edition. Well, needless to say I can actually feel myself becoming more obsessive compulsive. After reading this stupid little magazine, I now want to bake a beautiful turkey with all the trimmings, organize my spices, label my serving pieces and bake pies. No Martha, it's not a good thing! And just when I thought it couldn't get any worst, I got the new Keepsakes magazine and now I am on creative overload! I can't stand it! I want to cook, scrapbook, make Christmas presents and lets not forget that the two biggest craft shows I do are this weekend and next weekend and no, I'm not ready. I need to make jewelry and lots of it. But thanks to these stupid magazines, all I want to do I cook, organize and scrapbook! CRAP! I HATE YOU MARTHA and the Keepsakes Magazine people too!
Yep, it's craft show season and this will be my second to last show of the season. This weekend we will be at Destrehan Plantation showing our wares...Jewelry that is. As usual, we are hoping for good weather, lots of people and lots of sales! The show is Saturday and Sunday...hope to see you there!
On a personal note, no I don't have my car back. Yes I'm getting really annoyed and no, I DON'T wanna be a grown up anymore.
