Texas rocks!

Yeah, I'm posting from the road. Well...sort of. I'm at my bff's in Houston. It's 2:20 a.m. and I'm sitting on her comfy sofa, looking at her beautiful Christmas tree and typing on her laptop. I'm really just posting this to make her smile when she wakes up in the morning and sits down with her coffee and she checks my blog...which she does everyday. So smile Sugarbutt...everybody knows you are here! LOL! But really, I'm lovin' the star treatment she is giving me, my hubby and bebe. We arrive yesterday afternoon (on her son's first birthday, mind you!) where she had our room all prepared with fresh linens, a guest basket of soaps, bathroom goodies, a Christmas stocking and other gifts, Cherry shortbread, cupcakes (ok those were for the kids birthday), and tons of other yummies! Today we went to Ikea and a few other places and I bought some great stuff that I totally didn't need but we had fun. Then she prepared a fab cheese tray...if you know me, you know I love me a good cheese tray, the best ice tea you could EVER want, and more yummy sweets. I am so in heaven! AND we aren't leaving until Monday! aaaaahhhhh.

Kisses Lindsey! You're the best!

Forever 29!

Ok, I've got to stop saying that...people are going to start to think I have a complex about aging! And how funny is that sign?!! I giggled about that all night. Seriously, my birthday weekend was so nice. I scrapped, I ate, I got presents...ahhhhh. Although my actual birthday was Sunday, my in-laws took me out for lunch Saturday and my husband took me to Outback for supper. MMMMmmmmm....Victoria Filet, Potato Soup, Bloomin' Onion....It was soooo good! Then I opted out of the dessert for supper and instead went to Starbucks for a gingerbread latte and a HUGE "black & white" cookie. OMG that thing was delish {but it doesn't hold a candle to you sugarbutt!}. So yeah, that was the hightlight of my weekend. So dispite a sick, vomiting, fussy baby the night of my birthday, the weekend was pretty good. Oh and the baby...he is fine. Must have just been a little tummy virus.

Zane1st Thanksgiving in the Woods

Well our first road trip was an experience to say the least, but I think little one enjoyed his stay in the woods. Now we have a different set of issues...teething. Yep, I think the little guy is trying to cut some teeth. We shall see.
Here are more pictures for your viewing pleasure.

goodness...

OMG this is some good pie! This was my contribution to Thanksgiving dinner this year. It's a meat pie and it is the best think you have ever put in your mouth! I've had some requests for the receipe but there really isn't one...at least that is what my aunt told me when I asked her for the receipe. However, I can tell you how I made it. So here goes...

You will need:
1 pound of ground beef
1 pound of ground pork
1 small onion - diced
2 stalks of celery - diced
1/2 bellpepper - diced
seasonings of your choice for meat (garlic salt, cajun seasonings, etc.)
1 can of cream of chicken soup
greated parmasan cheese
Shredded Italian cheese blend
2 pie shells
1 egg

Directions:
Smother your onions, celery & bellpepper
Add your pork & beef and season
Stir and brown meat mixture
While meet is cooking, lightly brown one pie shell according to package directions
Add a generous amount of parmasan cheese to meat mixutre & mix well
Remove browned pie shell from oven and fill with meat mixture
Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of meat
Place thawed pie shell on top of pie and seal edges
Prick with a fork for venting
Beat egg in a small dish and brush lightly over the top of the pie
Bake according to pie shell directions or until golden
*** Side Notes: This meat filling makes three pies total. Also, I used frozen onion seasoning mix and added fresh bellpeppers for extra flavor. And when I made my last pie I didn't have any shredded Italian cheeses so I used some sliced provolone I had in the fridge. So don't be afraid to alter it to your taste.

And there you have it. A new family tradition is born. Well that and this delish Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding thanks to Food Network!

Sunday's Class

Hi guys, Sunday I will be teaching a class at my LSS (Memory Mania) on this cute little Disney Journal. If you are in south Louisiana, you should sign up for it. It really will make a great little keepsake from your Disney trip. It is designed as an autograph journal for the characters to sign but there is places for pictures too. If you already went to Disney and don't have autographs, you can just use is as a scrapbook and just put pictures in it. OR if you went to Disney and got your autographs in a plan book, you can make copies of them and put them in this one along with your pictures. There are so many posibilities with the precious little book!

Guest Designer...Me?!

Yep, Sheri with www.myfavoritememories.net contacted Hambly and asked for some info on their design team because they were featuring some Hambly in their November kit and wanted to have some guest designers. So shortly after that Sheri contacted me and sent me a kit to play with and come up with some designs for her site. Little did I realize that she picked me to represent Hambly...I was the only one to recieve the kit! So here it is...I'm a "Guest Designer". Thank you so much for this opportunity Sheri, I had a blast! My gallery should be up today or tomorrow...you will have to go spy and see it...some serious Hambly love going on there!
http://www.myfavoritememories.net/domnovdec06.html. Take a look at these yummy papers, I mean really! You can't see it all that well in this pic but she featured the Hambly Big Vintage Circle paper and the Journaling Bits Overlay. I really thought outside MY box on this one, I can't wait for you to see!

All Hallow's Eve

Well Zane had a good first Halloween despite being a bit under the weather due to his first round of shots! We had plenty of visitors and trick or treaters so he got to see a lot of new faces. So here he is in his parrot costume. David and I were pirates and Zane was our parrot...he was so cute! The first two pics were taken Halloween night, the last one was taken about a week ago.

It's the GREAT Pumpkin!

Well lookie here! Zane goes to the pumpkin patch! Yep, we took Zane for his first trip to the pumpkin patch for a little photo shoot. My dear Sugarbutt met us there with her sweet bebe and darling husband to join in on the fun. Well some of my loyal bloggers (one actually) that knew of...perhaps even participated in the pumpkin outing sent me a harassing e-mail demanding that I post the pics. You know who you are...STALKER! LOL! So here are a few of my favs. Now to my not so anonomous stalker, don't you have some pictures to post to photo bucket? How am I supposed to make surprise scrapbook pages without quility pictures?!

Settling in to Motherhood

Yes we are adjusting to having a new little screaming, spitting, pooping angel in our formerly quite home. This morning I took the time to give some advice to a soon to be mother and former coworker. This is the best way I can describe my feelings right now... Here is my advice to her and all pregnant mothers to be...
Cherish this time right now because believe it or not, you will miss that belly, you will miss that movement deep inside your tummy, you will yearn for that time when your baby was all yours inside you and you didn't have to share him and you could quietly take him wherever you went without any fuss and you could sleep soundly...well as soundly as you can 8 months (or more) pregnant...but still more sound than with a fussy new born! It is so true, it all changes. Your world is upside down. Night is day and day is crazy! The time flys by and you wonder what the hell you did all day! You are tired, sore, tender and emotional but you don't mind so much. It is very real. A lot of new mothers will gush over how you have this instant love and bond with this new human being...bla, bla, bla...but the truth is that I didn't have an overwhelming love and bond with him. I mean I loved him from the beginning, but I felt more of a huge responsibility and need to nurture. I still sort of feel that way. It is kinda of weird and hard to explain. It's a bizarre feeling that nobody really told me about and it sort of surprised me. Ok, I'm done gushing!

So ya want more pictures? Well here is a link were you can see more of little Zane. Enjoy.

He's Here!

Well he made it safe and sound! After a very long and hard labor and delivery filled with complications, our little bundle of joy finally came into this world Friday morning, September 1st at 12:24. He weighed 6 lb 6 oz and was absolutely perfect. We can't even tell you the joy we feel right now. The last few days have been a blur and we are just loving every second with him. I will post more pics later and tell you all about my long and difficult journey through my natural child birth. Yes. I said natural child birth! I'll post again soon. Promise!

Hopefully this induction process will go well and I won't have to be in labor for too long. I will check in with the doctor tomorrow morning and she will examine me then she will send me over to the hospital to start the induction process. WISH ME LUCK! I'll keep ya'll posted.
