I MADE IT! I'm a Hambly Girl!

Yep! I made the Hambly Design Team! OMG I am so pumped up right can't imagine! It's as if you just told me I have won an Acadamy Award or something. In that case, I would like to thank Hambly for their yummy papers, Kristina for all her inspiring layouts and funky, edgy style, Elsie for her quirky inspiration, Ali for her attention to detail inspiration, all the ladies at two peas for praise and inspiration, my mommy cause without her I wouldn't be here...Oh my I could go on for days! I just had to share! This is going to be awesome! I'm going pinch myself over and over again!

Hambly Love....

With only one more day left to find out who made the fabulous Hambly design team, I thought I would post one of my entries. I've seen some of the other entries and they rock so I seriously doubt I have a chance...but a girl can dream can't she? LOL! I used all Hambly Papers & Overlays for this layout and embelished with Artic Frog letter stickers, Making Memories flower brad/metal star charm/label holder, 7 gypsies photo turns, Heidi Swapp Chipboard Letters.

Camp Crop-A-Lot

Had a ball this weekend croppin' with the girls at Memory Mania's Camp Crop-A-Lot. It was too fun, too short and too exhausting! My class went well and all seemed to enjoy so that was super exciting. And I have to give a big shout out to my girl Brenda who was such a trooper and helped me through my large class of 24 students! She needed a drink after but she did great! Oh and I was majorly productive...ok maybe not MAJORLY but I was fairly productive. Here are a few layouts I did this weekend. I'll post more later.

Daddy's Little Girl

Yep, that's my brother holding his baby girl. Well his "baby girl" is now 6 years old and growing like a weed so I thought it would be nice to give him a father's day album with some picks I know he doesn't have to mark the first father's day he will celebrate since he gained custody of her last year. I hope he likes it... I spent tons of time and creative energy on it but I think it was well worth it!

Yep, it's true. I mentioned it in my previous post but I figured since it was so long and filled with hormonal babble that no one would really read it. So...I'm giving this topic the spotlight it deserves with it's very own post because I'm so proud! This will be my first time being published. I can't show you the pages... in fact I had to pull it from a previous post and from my two peas gallery, but I can show you this...

This is what I have posted in their place...these are some of the papers I used to create my layout. So anyways, I found out this juicy tid bit of info Monday and I had a bit of a whirlwind of emotions that insued after that. You will just have to scan through my previous post to read all about that. So there it is. My big announcement. If you are one of my non-scrapbook buds, this doesn't mean much to you but to us in the scrapbook world, this is huge. HUGE I TELL YOU! From now on whenever I'm asked "Have you been published?"when I make future submissions for publications or design team tryouts or in a teacher bio...I can say "YES, I have!" Toot, toot for me!

Pregnant Hormonal Rage Statement.

Ok, I feel I must warn you. This post is part of a hormonal pregnacy induced rage. Please proceed with caution. You may want to get up stretch your legs and get a beverage for this post. Some of you have been asking how I'm doing these days since I've been sort of goes. Alright, as for friends…They have sort of started treating me like you would treat your grandma. You know, you don't really want to talk to her…you don't really have anything to say to her nor do you feel like you have anything in common to really discuss but you call her because you know you should. Well it is sort of like that. We rarley get invited to go anywhere anymore because all of our friends (with very, very few exeptions) are single without kids and no concept of being pregnant and what you go through mentally and physically. When we do get invited to go somewhere it is to a bar and often times in the middle of the week. There are other things to do and places to go besides a bar. Is that all that other late twenties people do? Anyways, we did get invited to a friends house for dinner this weekend which was nice...sort of awkward but very nice that they are making an effort to keep in touch while I'm in my "delicate condition". I say it was awkward because they kept mentioning things that had happened when they went out the night before but they were sort of doing it on the down low cause they didn't want us to know they went out and didn't ask us or mention it to us. Then they tried to discreetly plan a trip out after dinner as to not make us feel left out. It was really sweet and we really appreciated the company but it is just strange. But not horrible I guess. I can deal. It just makes me very sad to left out of things. We do have a good friend that I used to work with that has a new boyfriend (not mentioning any "RANDOM" names) and we went to the Funnybone last weekend and out to eat and we had a really good time. They are not stuck up on stuck on themselves and could completely care less that I'm pregnant. I mean she is so happy for us and asks about it the pregnancy and we talk baby stuff from time to time but I’m not just her "pregnant friend". I'm just her friend (that happens to be pregnant). I'm just a regular person that she thinks is cool to hang out with and that is nice. She doesn't hate, she doesn't make fun, she doesn't put up a front. She is real. I LOVE that! I mean, the only friend that is in the same situation as me that knows what I'm dealing with and can help at times like this is hundreds of miles away! (I miss you sugarbutt!)
OK, now this weekend…All was well…we relaxed and had a lazy Friday night at home, we went to the movies Saturday to see The Brake up (FUNNY!) then had our dining experience at our friend's house. THEN…Sunday…well first of all we were a good aunt and uncle by showing up at 9 a.m. Sunday morning for my niece's t-ball game…second of all it was hot as Satan's bedroom out there and third, we were subjected to "T-ball baby momma drama"! Ok, now you are laughing…and one would think that is funny. Until you realize that the "T-ball baby momma drama" I speak of involved my sister-in-law and my former sister-in-law. OH THE DRAMA! Yeah, it's all fun and games until your family is verbally dooking it out at the t-ball field in front of God and everybody (VERY LOUDLY I might add!)
Now fast forward to Monday….Ohhhhhhhhh Monday BLOODY MONDAY! Ok so that was a little dramatic but Monday was an emotional roller coaster for me! I get to work Monday morning tired and not really wanting to be there. Ok…not wanting to be there at all. But I digress. Anyways, I check my e-mail and I get an e-mail from the publisher at Memory Makers Magazine that says "We’re writing to request your unpublished layout(s) listed below for possible publication in Memory Makers Scrapbook Idea Gallery with an October 2006 cover date." Well I was floored! I actually had to stop and read it again. TWICE! I was so thrilled! I had submitted a layout in response to an open call they had for Mardi Gras themed pages for an upcoming special ideas issue and had never dreamed I would hear back from them. Then I noticed this little statement... "We must receive your layout(s) by Wednesday 6/14/06." I thought…June 14th?....JUNE 14TH! THAT'S WEDNESDAY! OH CRAP! So I scrambled around trying to find somewhere local that would Fedex…no luck in Plaquemine. So I called my hubby at work and he said he could send it but I would have to bring it to him before 5:00 and they guy that picks up their stuff for work can take it. So I thought, OK, I'll go home at lunch, pick it up and then bring it to Port Allen and get it sent off when I get off of work. Then I the blood rushed out of my face when I realized I had just dropped off some layouts to the store in Gonzales just the weekend before for display. CRAP! Did I leave this one?! Oh God I hope not! Well fortunately I didn’t…only because they didn't carry some of the papers I had used so I decided not to leave that one….wwhhhhhhewwwww…disaster averted. Well I get home to pick up the layout and see the light on my answering machine blinking. I check the messages in a hurry so I could get back to work and have time to actually eat something when I hear the voice of a man on the machine telling me he is the Parish Inspector and he got a complaint from the man that owns the lot behind me that we are building a structure too close to his property. He researched the issue and there is a Parish ordinance that says you can not have a building or structure within 15 ft of your back property line and he requested that I give him a call. OH MY GOD…I came unglued! I find this news out after pouring a $7,000 concrete slab…now you tell me I can't build my building?! WTF?! I wanted to inflict some serious bodily injury on someone. SERIOUSLY! Ok, at this point I'm visibly shaking, sweating and my heart is racing. I can't go back to work! So I did what any reasonable, rational 7 month pregnant woman would do. I went to the court house looking for this INSPECTOR. I walked in and stomped up the stairs despite what that little voice in my head was telling me about that not being a good idea in my condition…WHAT?! The elevator would have taken too long! So I get to this man's office. Unable to breathe much less speak clear words and string them together to form complete sentences. The woman told me I should sit down. She told me I should get some water. I told her I was fine (my knees felt like buckling) BUT I WAS FINE…just a little out of breath from the stairs. Well needless to say he was at lunch so I had to just leave a message and go on back to work. I called my mom, my husband I whined, I complained, I cried, I screamed. Then I was fine. MAD AS ALL HELL but fine. So anyways, long story short, David (seeing I was in no shape to speak to this man) got in touch with this guy and talked to him. He gave us the name of a very nice young man (about my age) at the zoning committee and I called him. I told him who I was, what my problem was and where I lived. He knew who I was and was familiar with my property…in fact he lives or used to live in my subdivision. He assured me he would do everything he could do to assist me in this. Content with my conversation with him, I went to my husband's work to bring my layout to be sent off. Well I get there and realize I left the address at work! CRAP! Well fortunately I was able to look it up online but I was unsure of who's attention to send it to…after all this is a large magazine and I was so scared it would get lost in the mix! Needless to say I got to work this morning and called to leave a message for the publisher…she got my package. Woo Hoo! October edition of Making Memories here I come! So yes, all is well. Mostly. I still have some huge issues with the building. We are gonna have to pour more concrete and it will cost us more money…but it is better than no building and a $7,000 useless slab. So I'm good. Thanks for asking.

By the end of the class, you will have made a book for your child to take to Disney to get Mickey and his friends to sign. Oh, Mickey is gonna love this one!

I am very excited about these classes and hope to see some familer faces!

Pressure Post...

Yes this is a pressure post. I've been told by one of my 3 adoring fans that I need to post what I've been so busy working on. Well...I've mostly been working on class samples that I really can't post right now...perhaps I'll give ya'll a sneek peek after I take some pictures of my projects this weekend. {We shall see!} But, I did notice that I had not posted these here is some eye candy to fill your hungry bellies. Oh and after the Hambly Design Team Deadline is up I will post a few pages that I submitted to them. P.S. wish me luck!

So here you go...

#1 - "Got it on Ebay": This is last weeks Effer Dare and the theme was to do a page about where you shop. I thought it was only natural to scrap about ebay since I have been buying a bunch of stuff for the nursery from there. I used Heidi Swapp Chipboard letters and decrative tape, Artic Frog and American Crafts sticker letters, Doodle Bug Flower and Hambly patterned paper.

#2 - "What's Up Doc?": Used Heidi Swapp Chipboard letters, American Crafts brads, Hambly patterned paper and I'm not sure what the bright green paper is.

#3 - "My Point of View": I've been having this page in my head for quite some time now and just got around to puting it down on paper. I wanted to document how I see my changing deep thoughts or journaling...just a visual of what I see when I look down (keep in mind this picture was taken about two months ago!). Used Heidi Swapp Chipboard letters (did I mention I love these?!), retro leaf stickers from Target and some random scraps of paper I had laying around.

Thanks Jill for harassing me to update!
