Forever 21, Steel Magnoias & "The Y"

I'll be the first to admit that this is a completly RANDOM post.
Sunday we went to the mall in a hopeless quest for black heals and brown boots. Well with my midget size feet I was unable to find either! I was however, able to find a pair of Hanna Montana cowboy boots that would fit nicely. Too bad that is not a good look for a 30 year old woman. BUT, every cloud has a silver lining....We went to Forever 21 and I felt such accomplishment walking out of there with a bag full of goodies for only fourty bucks! I got two super cute sweaters, a scarf and two pairs of earrings. The green pair above is my favorite. I'm really into big colorful earrings these days.

We also signed up for a gym membership at the Y. I was very optimist Sunday when we signed up but all that physical activity is starting to take it's toll on me now. Granted I have never set foot in a gym before, I WILL push through it! HELL, if I can give birth with out an epi, I sure the hell can do this! LOL! I'll keep you posted on my progress.

As for weekend plans, we are going to see a theatre production of Steel Magnolias. It happens to be my all time favorite movie so how could I pass up the opportunity to see it on stage?! I can't wait! It's going to be sort of a girls afternoon...as well it should be!

Wardrobe provided by Seneca Formals*

Doin' it LA style. Louisiana style that is. It's Mardi Gras time!

Some friends of our graciously invited us to a Mardi Gras ball this weekend. >Hi Rita!<
These costumes were amazing...take a look at the King and Queen!

Here are more pics from the night. Here is Rita with her man and my high school bud, Micah. Doesn't she look smokin' in that dress. You can't see it from the above picture, but I made Rita some kick ass earrings to go with her dress. I love how they turned out. I may have to make some some similar to this. This is another high school friend, Corey and his wife Misty. They live out of state now and it's been a while since we hung out...so this was a nice treat.
It just wouldn't be a Mardi Gras ball without parading around with our umbrellas! So that is exactly what we did.
And lastly, can I say look at this dress?! What good is a backless dress with out a good "Hollywood" shot of it! If you think I look smashing, I have to give my girl April props for helping me out with my digs.
So yeah, wardrobe totally provided by Seneca Formals* LOL!
*Seneca Formals is a fictitious company made up by me. But damn am I glad my girl had all that fabulous formal wear in her arsenal! You saved me a bundle girlie! AND you made me look hot too!

Too much stuffing...not enough breast.

Don't you just hate it when you get a stuffed chicken breast and it's more stuffing than chicken? Anywho...I took this cute little test. Interesting.

The QK Bloggers Club is a wonderful little blog that features scrapbookers & stampers and this week I am featured! So cool!

Want Not...Waste Not...

Ok, I'm guilty of throwing Christmas cards out in the past...but not anymore!

I made this little mini (inspired by Marci Lambert) and I put all my cards (big and small) in this one little mini. It makes me happy. And since I used binder rings, I can just add a tab next year and keep on going! I love scrapbooking!

Will the real Zane Crue please stand up...

We had somewhat of a family day today and went to the Aquarium in New Orleans. I think that Zane really enjoyed it.

The frogs are always my favorite! How cute is it that the little cricket is perched on his head?!

Well I am dog tired and gotta jump in my cozy bed for some shut eye. Laters!

So much to say here...

So we went out to see a band play only to find when we got there that they had canceled. We would have never went out on a week night to see the band that filled in. But we made the best of it.

The traditional shoe shot.

The intoxicated embrace

The girl friends pic.

The "there's a story there" pic...SO much to say about this one...
1) Notice the stance April has...mid dance stride.
2) See the bling on her ring finger? Earlier in the night that ring was on her right hand. Hmmm.
3) The borderline pleather vest and red snake skin shoes. Nice.
4) The box of "props" just beind the singer...boas and hats included.
5) The binder of song lyrics on the floor in front of the singer...perhaps she didn't know what she was singing.
6) Perhaps the most obvious of all...the eye contact the guy on the left has with April's butt. Again I say...nice.

And finally, the proverbial settle down girls shot. That's a wrap!
So needless to say we can have a good time with very little to work with. We even started a "soul train" circle! Yeah, it was that good! *sigh* Work was hard today. Hard I tell you!

He's spirited...or so they say.

Well we finally got Zane in to see a Pulmanary Specialist to see if we can do something about his breathing problems. It was a good visit and dispite the horrible things we heard about him, he left a great impression on us. Even though we were there to discuss his breathing problems (whezzing, coughing, etc.), which we did discuss, we actually talked more about him in general. I think he was quite taken by Zane. He told us that he was "spirited"...and I just thought he was hyper! He even told us there is a book about how to raise a spirited child and he suggested that we get it. Is it bad when the doctor suggests that you get a book to learn how to raise your child? Hmmmm.

Yep I'm Thankful

Remember my promise to make a "thankful" journal? Well i did it.

And I've been recording something I'm thankful for everyday. I used random bits of paper items, everything from envelopes and tags to Hambly overlays to make the pages. Each page represents a week in this year. So I will have 365 thing I am thankful for by the end of the year. Speaking of thankful, one of the things I'm totally thankful for right now is that Zane is still sleeping through the night. Really! It has been like 10 days in a row now and he is doing great (as are we!). I really thought all the "kids need structure" stuff was crap...but I was SO wrong. From the day we got him on a schedule of events he has slept through the night ever since. We are all much happier!

99 Luft Balloons...

Ok so it was only two balloons...and only one of them was red...but you get the point.
Now if you are thinking that he looks all grown up suddenly, it's not your imagination. Trying to figure out what it is?

My boy got his first cut!
He even posed for this adorable picture when we were done! The owner of the store thought it was so cute that she is going to use it in her ads! LOL! That's my boy! It was a great experience. He was so good and the lady didn't even charge us! When we left the salon, we went next door and got him those balloons. The lady gave us the balloons tied to a little bunch of mini bottles of bubbles AND she only charged me 60 cents! So with his fresh hair cut we wanted to take some pictures. We went out to the back yard with the balloons and to blow bubbles and take pictures. It was so perfect! He immediately popped both balloons so we only got two picture with them but that didn't phase him. He was such a little man today.

So the "My First Curl" keepsake is filled now. *sigh*

There's not enough olive in my loaf...

Seriously, you pay good money for olive loaf and there is like three little slivers of olives. What the hell is up with that?! Anyways...

Guess how many nights in row my son has sleep through the night?....
Go on...guess...

FIVE! Five nights in a row! That is a huge milestone for us! Yes I realize the kid is like 16 months old and it is rediculous that he hasn't been sleeping through the night since he was like 3 months old but whatever. We are just happy he is sleeping!

Oh and here are some projects I did while at Camp Crop A Lot...I did a bunch...it may take a few posts to show it all!

Jess Scrapjack!

Ok, I'm totally late on getting this done but better late than never...right?!
Here is my version of the fabulous Jessica Fulkerson jack over on the scrapjacked blog.

I'm sure I'll have plenty more to add in the next few days...I'm scrapping my little heart out at Camp Crop-A-Lot (a scrapbook retreat) this weekend! Now back to scrapping! Laters!

It's gonna be a fabulous new year

Yes, I'm declaring that 2008 will indeed be a fabulous new year. I mean 2007 was wonderful...full of glorious milestones and life changing developments but I know 2008 will show us more health and fortune. After all, I did eat my cabbage and black eyed peas.

Sparklers and kisses at midnight!

**Ahhhh, cooking with dear sweet friend was the best. She learned a new dish. I learned a new dish. Everything was delish!

And here they are, the gracious hosts. Thanks again!

Weeeeeeeeere Back!

Back from TX! Here is a brief run through...in pictures.

*my sweet bff made me those cutie patootie earrings! How sweet is that?!

James was such a ham...we got to celebrate his 2nd birthday. We also visited the children's museum. Zane was a little small to enjoy it all but it was sooooo cool!

We did some faux rock climbing at the park.

Zane got a good nap in at the park.

And I even made sugarbutt cry! He He! I'm so glad you loved your Christmas presents sugar! Thanks for a wonderful time and being such a gracious host (as always)!

More pics to come!
