Consider it severance

These. Yes. All of these. Target. Shoes. Cuteness. Can't even speak in complete sentences.
Look, when you wear a size 5 shoe, you buy'em when you see'em. Ok?! Consider it severance.

So in addition to this fabulous shoe find, I also had a KILLER trip to the Anthro sales rack. KILLER. You will see those finds later.

Oh and I came across these wonderful images in my stuff I had boxed up from art school.
I have tons of them and I can't wait to use them on something crafty.
Well that's all for now...well...just a 365 from earlier this week.
Now I'm off to dream about my fashion finds and get rested for a family day tomorrow.

A reminder...

Today we remember that we came from ashes...and to ashes we shall return. So obviously my 365 had to be of me with my ashes proudly shown on my forehead. We started our day out with 7 a.m. mass so they have been a reminder to me and everyone I came into contact with all day. I said a little prayer in church for the right opportunity to come along for us and I think it may have. I got a job offer this afternoon. I have mixed feelings about it because of the drive but the pay is good and I think I'm up for the challange.

Monday I sold my favorite piece in my etsy shop. I had mixed feelings about that too! So I worked on some new creations that will me showing up in my shop soon...
This one was also for the lace dare. I wanted to do something wearable.

And yesterday, on the way home from an interview I ran in one of my favorite thrift shops and found this...three of them actually! I was so excited! Now the delima is to sell or not to sell.
And this snapshot...well that's my boy on his new horsie his Maw Maw & Paw Paw gave him. Well it's new to him at least! It was a hand me down from my nephew but it's like brand new and he just loves it. He was "feeding" it here. LOL! Thanks Gail! He adores it!
Ok, gotta get this wet towel off my head and get into bed. I'll try to get some new things added to the Thrifted Finds shop tomorrow and I'll post an update then.
Laters!

It's a chili kinda night

But first, my 365. Cute flats with socks in a clover patch.
I love my clovers around my house. they have little deep red hearts on each leaf. The old wives tale is that when your clovers have these redish black "spots" on them, that means that someone died there. I don't know if I believe that...but they sure are cool looking.

So this afternoon was pretty chill. I spend most of the afternoon playing in the yard with my little guy and racing hot wheels down the slide.
Now for the chili. YUUUMMMMM!
Turkey Chili with salty saltine crackers. Delish on a nice crisp night.
As for the job front...I've had a bunch of interviews and should be hearing something soon. I have two really good prospects that I had great interviews for. I'll keep you posted.

Weekend to date...

My weekend has been full so for and I still have Sunday left to go.
I got up early this morning and went to help the ladies at Church roll and cut Italian cookies for the St. Joseph's Altar.
It was quite a sight and I'm very proud to be helping out with this rich Italian heritage. I'm afraid it's a dying tradition.
Above is my 365 as I rolled the cookies.
Last night we went downtown for pizza and to see a band . We may or may not have some celebrating (on the job front) to do so I wanted to get a jump on it and do some celebrating.
And this 365 was my late day coffee that has become quite a habit lately. I have got to stop that.

Alright, I think I'm going to go grab a snack and perhaps hit the sack early tonight. I know...total party animal.

Journals too?

Yep, I've added a section in the Thrifted Finds shop for handmade journals. Here are the latest additions:
They are filled with vintage map pages, sheet music, dictionary pages and graph paper. Great little pocket journals or catch alls for all sorts of inspiring things!

Just wanted to share

Cool little creativity quiz...Apparently I'm "Hands On".
That seems about right.

Work your soul

That's a new challange blog I've run into and I think I like.
This is the mini I did for the new prompt - Flocculence (translation: soft/ light/ milky/ opaque/ comforting/ fluffy/ creamy/ pale/ sleepy/ delicate/ soft)
I'm totally diggin these minis I've been doing with my bind it all. Thinking about making some for my etsy shop out of recycled vintage papers and stuff. Ya think anybody would be interested in buying that kind of stuff?
Speaking of my etsy shop, here are some new listings over at thrifted finds... they are upcycled vintage items that have been made into newly constructed jewelry pieces.
And finally, a couple 365s.

The jack is up!

This is my scrapjack of Melissa Oliveira for 2/15. I adore her mini and had to step mine up a notch to do it justice! LOL! Used an old Dozens kit I had laying around. The cut out and stitched title is also very inspired by CandiMandi. I've been loving her title work these days!I love how it turned out. It's supposed to be a craft inspiration mini. I can't wait to fill it up with inspo! You can see the full mini here.

As for my weekend, slow and steady. That's what it's been. Valentines was lovely. I made filet mignon with crab bearnaise sauce and grilled shrimp. It was pretty fabulous. The hubs seemed pleased. Then today was very chill. Church, check. Groceries, check. Visit grandma, check. Photograph scrap projects, check. See, pretty chill. Now to prep more goodies for my thrifted finds etsy shop.

I'm in love with a boy

This boy. He steals my heart every time.
All he could talk about today was valentines. It was so sweet. So anyways, we had a nice lunch with the in laws and then I made what is most likely the most fabulous meal I've ever made...filet mignon with crab bearnaise sauce. That is some goooooood stuff. The hubs was impressed and that's all I wanted. I just wanted him to feel special for being so sweet to me and providing such positive reinforcements during my little slumps lately.

Ok, so here is some scrapage...a mini I made with the January Masters Kit.

Oh and I'll be back tomorrow to post my version of this month's jack. I think it's my absolute favorite to date!

Friday the 13th was good to me

Yes today was a good day. And damn, did I need it.
Well it started off with a call back from a company I inquired about employment with. Then I had a great interview with another company. And a couple other promising leads. And on my way back from my interview, my dear friend Elizabeth (AKA: Starshine) called me to meet her for lunch at McDonalds. Since I was craving saltly french fries and a coke, this was perfect!
So that's how things are going on the job front.
Some sad news...my grandmother is very sick. Very, very sick. I don't know how much my family wants me to share but it's bad. I've been dealing with that since the day I found out I lost my job...which was hard enough. But as examinations start, test results come back and treatments begin, things are not getting easier. I'm more worried about my mother who has to take care of her (with the help of her brothers). My mother takes everyone's problems and worries as her own. To quote a line from my favorite movie (Steal Magnolias): I never have to worry, momma worries enough for the both of us. And it is so true. My heart hurts for her.
On a positive note, we no longer have sewage backing up in our home! Yey!
Ok, so here are a few 365s from the week. More here.
*homemade gingerbread latte* mmmmMMMM!
Brown Cons
Laying in the grass
Brown heals.
A lot of feet shots this week. Sorry.
And now, a peek into a project I've been working on for the latest Masters Kit, "Sheer Chill".

I can't wait to share more!

Gettin' Scrappy 'Wit it!

I scrapped again! Damn I'm feeling creative!
This time I used some Hambly goods and some black and white graphics that my girl Ms. Batts gave me. I decided to do a page about her since I thought it was so cute that she saved these graphics from an old make up box she had. She totally gets me. I used a cool technique on the Hambly overlay...alcohol ink. Try it, you'll like it. *Just make sure you do it on the back (the side without the printing on it. Otherwise the alcohol in the ink will remove the the printing from the overlay.
Now I don't know if I ever shared these little guys with you...
My chefs. They live in our kitchen and they talk to each other. Ok now you think I'm crazy. But really, I usually write something on one of the boards and then David will write a response. It's something we just started doing and it's stuck. He has left me some pretty inpirational messages over the last week or so but this one made my heart smile. I was feeling hopeful that day...he wanted to make sure I knew I should feel hopeful everyday. Sappy enough for ya? LOL!
Lastly, here is my 365 for today...rockin' my new peacock pendant. I just love it!

Sad day

Today was a sad day. I had to attend two funerals of two unrelated family friends. I also went to my first career counseling session.

Funerals are so bizarre. The visitation is always so awkward with the casket up front and a procession of people coming up to "view the body". Then you have to pass by the "receiving line" of family members that are lined up to greet people and "receive" condolences. It's all very strange to me.

Well all the bizarre, uncomfortable things aside...I have been creative this week...believe it or not.

I made this...

And this....
*earrings and pendant made with "Dove of the East" papers. I love these feather papers!*

Oh and a bunch of cool 365's...
I even made a scrapbook page...

So all in all, I guess it's been a pretty good week. I've been feeling more upbeat...optimistic. Ok so I had a little melt down Tuesday but I think it's because I've been holding back a little and it all came to a head. Now I'm looking forward. Chasing leads and staying grounded. *sigh* It's gonna be ok.
