Even Rocky Had a Montage...

Today my head is in a cloud of funk and I'm nursing an ear infection...so this is a montage I found online and thought it was perfect for my grey day today...
I love all the shades and tone on tone going on. So inspiring. You can find it's creator and links to all the places to purchase these goods here.

I'll pull my thoughts (and pictures) together this afternoon for a weekend post about our EASTER TEA!! It was so glorious! Can't wait to share!

The quest for organization

Ahhhh yes, it seems like I'm always searching for it.
Well as most of you know I work on my jewelry sprawled out on my kitchen table. Since the Easter tea is fast approaching I've been straightening up my crafty mess. But how do you straighten an a you work at almost daily without making all of your supplies inaccessible? I mean if I spend the time and effort find a place to store it all and pick it all up, I would have a hard time making myself drag it all out again. Which is not a good thing.

So recently I've been talking with my friend April who is embarking on her own organization business. She came by the house the other day and gave me some great tips to get started. My mind has been racing ever since. One of the things she mentioned was a bit of a *duh* moment for me...store things where you use them. So instead of picking up my supplies in my craft room (where they should most likely go), I should find creative storage to keep them where I actually use them...which is in the kitchen. She also mentioned that we should try to use what we have and avoid purchasing items to use in our organization process. This weekend I was vintage linen shopping in my mom's vast collection and came across this fab yellow and white table cloth. It reminded me of the color scheme I wanted to do in my craft room...yellow and teal. Then I remembered these beauties I had bought to use in my craft room and never did...
Vintage enamel teal canisters! BINGO! 4 nesting containers perfect for supply storage....right on top my table! So organized we actually ATE at the table tonight for supper! Seriously. I can't tell you how happy that makes me. Form AND function!
Thank you April! For my sanity!

Mini Photo Shoot

Last weekend we set out to have Zane's spring pictures taken. We never get his pictures professionally taken because he is not a "sit and pose" kinda kid. No amount of bribery will get him to sit in from of a backdrop and pose for a picture. BUT my friend Nicole is working hard on her photography business and was doing Easter pics with live bunnies so I thought I would give it a try and support a good friend in the process. Nicole did great... however Zane did not. He wanted nothing to do with the rabbits, denied my attempt to put his cute little bunny hat on him and refused to sit in front of her precious little backdrop. So after Nicole got done with our session I decided to let Zane play and run around since it was such a beautiful day. The follow pictures were snapped as he had a blast in the South Louisiana spring sun! *WITH his bunny hat!*

He sang, he danced, he clapped, he ran, he giggled...a lot.
We also had sort of a breakfast picnic too...just the two of us.
*Notice the yogurt on his chin*

He even picked flowers for me...

And gave me his proud bunny face...

This kid is amazing. Never a dull moment. As a working mother I don't get a whole lot of this sort of thing so when I get that time it makes my heart so happy. It makes up for all those mornings when he crawls in the bed with me right before my alarm clock goes off and asks "momma can you stay and lay down with me?". It breaks my heart to have to tell those big blue eyes that "momma has to go to work". Days like that beautiful spring day are cherished for me...I am planning a repeat very soon;)

Fingerless Glove Tutorial

Well it's more of a method than a tutorial... I took these inexpensive socks
and and with a few snips of the scissors, made these gloves
Perfect for my Alice in Wonderland themed Tea Party!!
So all you do is cut the toe off just after it tapers down and cut the top ridge off then snip a slit for your thumb. I embelished them with a couple of buttons and presto...custom fingerless gloves!!

Random.

This is a very random post. Sorry. But just some images I wanna share.
I got these fabulous boots at a garage sale this weekend. A friend called me to tell me they had them in my (freakishly small) size. *so sweet of her* So I raced over there. Amazing find.

And this stunning (and a bit obnoxious) piece of art...totally inspiring me. *from J. Crew I think*
More inspiration...
Adoring these garlands by http://www.belladrummer.etsy.com/. Easter Tea decor? Perhaps.
Speaking of Easter Tea decor...
SO much inspiration.

Went to Urban Outfitters this weekend when we went see Alice in Wonderland (which was totally amazing by the way)...and got these...
If I can become a dress girl...I can totally become a painted fingernail girl...right? *swoon*
Still making jewelry like mad.
Perhaps some craft shows are in my future this fall. It's been way too long.

Going strong with my 365 project. Lots of pics...too many to share really.

Got creative with some crocheted flowers by American Crafts.
I love making my scrappy supplies into jewelry. It's totally inspiring.
One last jewelry pic...
These remind me of gum drops...I *heart* them. Great addition to my spring collection.
See...random.

Modern Wonderland

If Alice were in 2010, this is what she would look like.
Much darker. Much moodier. A bit more... "much".

Never loose your "muchness".
