Calm After the Storm

Just a day after Hurricane Issac passed through the gulf coast, this is what the sky over Baton Rouge looks like as we return home from delivering a generator to David's parents who are still without power.  As we passed through horrible flood waters that are continuing to rise and watching news coverage of those that have lost their homes due to rising waters and levee breakes, we can't help but realize how blessed we are that God spared us from this storm.

It still amazes me how durring the entire storm, no matter where it moved and continuted to surround us but we stayed sheltered from the storm.  Amazing.  Truely.

Happily Married...

Today my brother became a happily married man.
He is not only gaining an amazing wife but some pretty cool kids add to his own.
That makes me a pretty proud sister;)
We are very happy for him!

And we go to sneek in a little Sanders Family pic...

School Days

It's that time of year!
Zane's First Day of School!  He was super anxious so I made him a special snack for when he got home!
He enjoyed it so much!  Since he liked his little bento box so much, I think I'll do more bento box snacks for him this year.

Do the Robot

The Boy Likes His Robots...
Here he was building me lego robots as I packed my orders to ship out.

This month his Kiwi Crate kit is robot themed!  He is gonna flip!  Speaking of which, have you checked them out?  They are amazing!  If you haven't heard of them...check them out.  It's a monthly kit for your kids to craft and do learning and discovery projects.
Everything you need for the projects is included and it comes shipped right to your door.  Zane adores his!

Perfect Summer Supper

Living in South Louisiana this is indeed the perfect summer supper.  Growing up as a little girl I can remember my daddy coming home for lunch on Saturdays from his part time job at Ocmands Jewelry store.  I would make him spreads of cheese and crakers, baby corn, pickles, olives, whatever he had in the fridge.  It's no wonder it's a comfort food for me now and no surprise my kids love it now too;)  I love that I can create these memories with them and carry on these traditions with them.
